Happy Birthday to a Funny Boy!

Having grown up with a birthday in mid-December I know how important it is for everyone to remember that "My Birthday is NOT Christmas!"

So when the Comedian's birthday rolled around on Dec. 19th we packed everyone up and headed South to play in the snow with cousins and celebrate the new SIX year old in our family. It was a funfilled day that started off at Uncle Mark's and Aunt Tina's with spaghetti (his favorite meal of all time) followed quickly by sleigh riding down the hills of Peteetneet the Historical School where I attended Head Start as a young girl. From there we went to Grandma's house for presents, yummy cake, and Creamsicles (ice-cream on a stick). After much playing and fun we headed back home. All three boys were asleep before we had been on the road for half an hour and slept all the way home.

A few days later we had a group of friends come over for more sledding, exploring of the awesome snow-forts in the front yard, warming up with some hot chocolate aka Snowman Soup, cake and more Creamsicles. Then we decorated Snowman plates, played a rousing game of Don't Eat Pete followed by lots of fun building Lego creations.

Truly a wonderfully FUN celebration of a sweet boy turning Six!

Happy Birthday Little Engineer!

Once there was a little boy who was born to a mama and a papa who loved him very much! In fact everyone in his world loved him very much!



Every day he grew bigger and bigger until one day he could walk across the room with a little help. It must have been because he had just turned one year old that day!



Soon he had a little brother and even though he was a little jealous he tried his best to be a good big brother. Luckily for him his cousin Bradley had some tips for him.

By his next birthday he was helping his Papa out with chores around the yard. It must have been because he was turning two!

Soon after his third birthday he decided to take on bigger things and exercise his inner Picasso. Luckily we were already planning on painting the kitchen walls blue.


On his fourth birthday he walked up a tree as he pursued the hidden treasure hunt for his birthday present. AND he learned how to ride a bike with training wheels for the first time.





It was pretty cool being four!







A year or so later he discovered that chocolate could absorbed through his skin! It must have been because he was five!

When the engineer turned six all kinds of new worlds opened up for him. He played Tee-Ball for the first time. He was on the White Sox team. He also took swimming lessons for the first time and discovered that he really did love the water! That year for his birthday he got a scooter! He could ride it so well because now he was six!

But this year he had the most remarkable experience of all! He got to have all of his closest friends over for a birthday party. While we were waiting for parents to come everyone went outside to ride on bikes and play!


That is when the MOST AMAZING THING HAPPENED! The Engineer could ride his bike all by himself with no training wheels and no help getting started.


When I asked him how he did it he told me, "Because now I'm SEVEN mom, yesterday I was still six!"

Like duh!

Time to say Goodbye Monster Baby........

.......and Hello to a Terrific Toddler!

On April 10th Timothy officially turned two! He had a bunch of grand celebrations for his birthday. Starting out with opening a few presents at his Great Aunt and Uncle's house on Friday night. Cousin Jake was only too happy to assist in the paper ripping ceremony.


Then they had to remember how to share and play with the new found toys together. Later on we went to Grandma's for a sleep over.



Finally the Big Day arrived. The boys all had fun hunting around Grandma Char's house for their Easter Baskets. Who knew that the Easter bunny would hide them in the bathtub with the shower curtain drawn.


Then it was back over to Aunt Tina's and Uncle Marks where he got his official 2 year old hair cut. And waited for all the cousin's to arrive for a picnic lunch and so we could have the annual Worthen Family Easter Egg hunt Eggs......travaganza.

What a lucky little boy to have his own special day so close to Easter.

You may notice that all the cousin's are here with the egg---seption of the birthday boy. He was worn out and fast asleep. Doesn't he look all grown up with his new haircut?



I think he's definitely a keeper. He keeps us all jumping up and down and running around and his laugh is just so precious. He loves to play with balls, go down the slide and you know everything is going his way when he calls out "ONE-----TWO---THREE----GO!!!!!!!"

Can't wait to see what we get to do during this next year!

Today is a Birthday!

Today my little engineer is 6. He woke up this morning with the following ideas that he shared with us all.

!. On his birthday he is the boss of the house.
2. He should have hot cereal for breakfast. Malto not yucko kind.
3. His birthday is almost like Christmas except Christmas does not have cake.
